Guide Skills Intensive
Before guiding with Bad Adventures, you’ll complete our Guide Skills Intensive course. GSI is scheduled in Texas (March) and Utah (May).

We’re looking for one Junior Guide to join our team for the 2022 season. The position’s responsibilities include both leading backcountry trips with a senior guide, as well as preparing and provisioning for trips at our base of operations in Denver, Colorado. Field work includes adventures in Colorado, Utah, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
This is a full-time position with a start date in May 2022.
Responsibilities
Share your love of outdoor adventure and help our guests have the time of their lives.
Guide in wilderness environments with a senior guide who serves as trip leader.
Teach backpacking and expedition kayaking skills.
Share Leave No Trace principles.
Plan and prepare for trips. Clean and organize equipment. Provision and pack gear for adventures.
Continuously work to ensure the safety of our guests.
Requirements
Professional or extensive personal backpacking or kayaking experience.
Wilderness First Aid certification or the ability to obtain certification before starting.
Adult CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain certification before starting.
An ability to make good decisions in stressful situations.
A heroic work ethic.
Great communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Qualifications
We will consider candidates with a variety of experience levels. Your application may stand out if you have:
Experience leading wilderness trips
Experience preparing backcountry meals
Wilderness First Responder certification
Swift Water Rescue training and experience
A valid driver’s license

Compensation
$12.75 per hour, plus tips.
