Katie loves paddling, backpacking, skiing, and canyoneering. She’s always game for a good mountain scramble! While originally from Ohio, Katie loves sharing western adventures with others. She's a Wilderness First Responder.

When not backpacking, kayaking, or mountain biking, you'll find Sarah curled up with a dystopian novel. She loves teaching outdoor skills and introducing people to the trails and rivers she guides. Sarah is a Wilderness First Responder and has AIARE 1 avalanche training.

When not winter backpacking in the Catskills or paddling Pennsylvania rivers, you’ll find Chris on a bicycle. Among other two-wheeled achievements, he's biked across the USA and is a leader in the world of long-distance endurance cycling. Chris is a passionate outdoor educator who recently retired as professor of electrical engineering. He’s a Wilderness First Responder.

Raina thrives on exploring new cultures and finding ways to meaninfully connect and help others. She's an avid world traveler and a Wilderness First Responder.

Ross loves trail running, skiing, cycling, and adventure racing. When not facilitating adventures or cooking the world's tastiest bacon, he works as a mechanical engineer. Ross is the mastermind behind the custom trailers and equipment that let us operate our special breed of trips.

Founder & Guide
Matt is the founder of Bad Adventures. Over the past 15 years, he has led thousands of people on kayaking, canoeing, hiking, and backpacking trips. Matt is a Wilderness First Responder and Leave No Trace Master Educator. He has AIARE 1 avalanche training.
Don't let the pun fool you. These are FANTASTIC ADVENTURES. The guides are some of nicest people you will ever meet.
